At 29, Caroline thought she had suffered a stroke. Five years later she received an unexpected MS diagnosis. Now 62 and still walking, working and driving, she refuses to let MS define her life.

At just 22, Holly woke up with half her body numb. After a frightening diagnosis she struggled in silence until counselling helped her. Her motto: “We are warriors.”

Jenny first lost sight in one eye in 1991, followed by more episodes over the years. It took until 2000 for her official MS diagnosis. She has lived a full and busy life on various DMTs.

After a serious car accident, Josie was diagnosed at 33. The doctor told her to “do as much as you can while you can”. Now 70, she remains active and finds huge value in the group.

Diagnosed at just 16½ in 1977, Marion has always focused on what she “can do”. She credits exercise, work, and the group for helping her maintain independence.

Shaun was diagnosed at 24 after losing sight in one eye. He continued working as an engineer for seven years and now volunteers as a fundraiser for MS research.

Steve experienced sudden paralysis down his right side in 2012. After being diagnosed with MS he has benefited greatly from the group’s exercise classes and sailing opportunities.
